Traditional TaeKwonDo Gives Progress a Clear Direction
Some schools offer combinations of TaeKwonDo, Hapkido, Kumdo, karate, kickboxing or jiu jitsu. Blackhawk does not present a menu of unrelated systems. Students study one art in depth and learn how its fundamentals support increasingly advanced skills.
This focus makes the training easier for families to understand and more consistent for students. Beginners learn correct movement and class conduct before speed or complexity becomes the priority. Advanced rank is earned by building on what came before.
Every Class Is Taught by Grandmaster Anthony and Master Cristina
7th Dan Grandmaster Anthony Iannone began TaeKwonDo in 1982 and brings more than 40 years of experience. 4th Dan Master Cristina Iannone teaches every class alongside him. Both are U.S. Army veterans, a married couple and parents.
Students are not handed to teenage instructors or an unpredictable rotation of junior staff. The people responsible for the curriculum and school culture remain visible on the floor, and parents can speak directly with them about the student’s progress.

Blackhawk is not located in Crystal Lake. Our only school is at 2333 Randall Road in Carpentersville. Travel time varies by neighborhood, school dismissal traffic and the family’s starting point.
We are direct about the location because the weekly routine matters. Use the full trial week to evaluate both the training and the drive. Families should choose Blackhawk because the instruction, curriculum and environment are a strong fit, not because a page suggests a branch that does not exist.
Schedule a Crystal Lake Family Trial Week
The trial lasts one full week so the student can learn the routine, meet the Masters and respond to actual coaching. We prefer a Monday start when possible.
New children are paired with a student mentor when practical. A parent or guardian stays onsite during every child’s trial class, and there is no automatic enrollment.

No. Blackhawk has one physical school at 2333 Randall Road in Carpentersville. We welcome Crystal Lake families without claiming a Crystal Lake branch.
Why choose one traditional art instead of a multi-style program?
A single Traditional TaeKwonDo curriculum lets each lesson build on the same fundamentals, forms, standards and rank requirements. Families who prefer variety across several systems may choose a different model.
Who teaches Blackhawk classes?
Every class is personally taught by 7th Dan Grandmaster Anthony Iannone and 4th Dan Master Cristina Iannone. Regular instruction is not assigned to teenage students or rotating junior staff.
Can preschoolers and adults train at Blackhawk?
Yes. Little Hawks serves ages 3 to 7, Kids and Teens serves ages 8 to 17, and adults train in a dedicated class for ages 18 and older.
Does the website publish exact class times?
We explain the available class and schedule options without publishing every exact time. Submit the form or call or text (224) 241-7708 so we can match the student’s age and goals to the appropriate first class.
What happens after the trial week?
The family and the Masters discuss whether the program is a good fit. The trial creates no automatic enrollment and no obligation to continue.
