Blackhawk is located at 2333 Randall Road in Carpentersville. We do not operate a second school in Gilberts. Before scheduling, use the map link and consider the trip at the time your family would normally attend.

7th Dan Grandmaster Anthony Iannone has trained in TaeKwonDo for more than four decades. 4th Dan Master Cristina Iannone brings her own Traditional TaeKwonDo leadership and movement expertise to the school. Both served in the U.S. Army.
They personally teach every class. Blackhawk does not use an impressive introduction and then hand regular instruction to teenagers or rotating junior instructors. A Gilberts student gets to experience the actual leadership during the first week.
Gilberts families often want an after school activity that is close enough to maintain and substantial enough to support long term growth. Blackhawk provides a continuing curriculum with clear expectations from the preschool years through high school and adulthood.

Students attending Hampshire Middle can strengthen focus, self control and resilience through goals that require steady effort rather than quick rewards.
Hampshire High students and Gilberts adults can pursue Traditional TaeKwonDo skills, practical self defense and meaningful rank progress in age appropriate classes.
Blackhawk TaeKwonDo is an independent martial arts school and is not affiliated with or endorsed by the schools or early childhood programs referenced above. All classes are held at our Carpentersville school.
Young beginners work on listening, coordination, balance and introductory TaeKwonDo skills in a class designed for early development.
School-age students develop traditional technique, concentration, discipline and a step-by-step approach to progress.
Adults have their own training environment. New and returning students can begin without being mixed into a children’s class.
The school includes over 5,500 square feet of fully matted training space. The open floor gives each program room for fundamentals, forms and controlled partner drills without crowding the class.
A separate 2,000-square-foot parent lounge allows families to remain at the school, relax and talk while the teaching floor stays focused. Parents do not have to hover at the edge of class or interrupt instruction.
One visit can feel unfamiliar. A full week gives the student time to learn names, understand the class flow and respond to coaching.
We prefer a Monday start when possible. New children are paired with a mentor whenever practical. A parent or guardian stays onsite for every child’s trial class.
